Great Saturday is the day when the Word of God, “through which everything began to be,” lies in the tomb as a dead Man, but at the same time saving the world and opening the tombs. On Holy Saturday, one of the main miracles of the Orthodox Church takes place: the descent of the Holy Fire. This miracle takes place every year on the eve of Orthodox Pascha in the Jerusalem Church of the Resurrection.
